How it all started for Fresh IQ

Peter Rosman (CEO at Fresh IQ) and Gert Kornet (CTO at Fresh IQ) met in the fresh produce and floriculture field. They saw opportunities in the combination of years of experience of Gert in web/data services and of Peter at Tech companies.

They noticed that the data-driven work – where so many other sectors achieved such good results – had not yet penetrated the fresh produce and floriculture market. Markets were still strongly supply-driven, while the opportunities for greater control of operations lie in the skillful matching of both supply and demand and data-driven improvement. This could – with the help of data – be done a lot smarter, they saw. And so waste could also be prevented.

The mission of Fresh IQ

Thus the mission of Fresh IQ was born – to help companies in the fresh produce sector (the fresh produce and floriculture sectors) work smarter; using data.

Four themes for focus

Conversations with companies in the sector reveal that four themes currently occupy them the most. To focus on what is truly important for our customers and truly make a difference within these companies, we primarily focus on solving the following four challenges:

1

Staff shortage

Lack of personnel puts quality and continuity - in operations and in the office - under great pressure and increases personnel costs above average. The data-driven insights offered by Fresh IQ can automate tasks on the one hand and provide insight into how personnel can best be deployed on the other. In this way, we make a valuable contribution to the efficiency of companies and a solution to the personnel shortage.
2

Harmonizing sales, supply and demand

All teams within a company can work smarter when they have the right data and insights at their disposal. With the optimal alignment of, supply and demand, smarter buying and selling and better anticipation of market developments, our customers make better decisions. Decisions are no longer made on gut feelings alone but on reliable data and facts.
3

Energy Transition

Energy prices are increasingly fluctuating, so choices associated with energy consumption also have greater impact on margins. Fresh IQ helps clients deal as efficiently as possible with energy costing business operations and monitor healthy margins that way as well.
4

Sustainability

Sustainability laws and regulations (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directives (CSRDs)) also impose new obligations on companies all the time. Fresh IQ helps clients unlock data to support reporting.
